Dear Parents and Carers,

We welcome all our new children and families who have recently joined us at Royal Arsenal.

Thank you to parents who are recommending us to friends and family this is very much appreciated.

Dates for your Diary:

Our parent forum will be held on 9th November @ 6.15pm

The focus for this forum will be to provide information on local Schools. We have invited local schools to join the forum. At present we have Richard from Plumcroft School who is coming along to talk about the new Vincent Rd campus that will be opening soon.

Children in Need:

We will be fundraising all week starting 13th to 17th November for Children in Need. We will be organising fundraising events and activities throughout the week.

Look out for the posters and fundraising tins. Thank you for your support!

Christmas Activities:

Our Christmas activities and events for this year will be as follow:

  • Children and staff will be having their Christmas dinner on Thursday 14th December.
  • Christmas PARTY will be held on Friday 15th December – 3pm to 5pm.
  • Christmas carols and mince pies will be served on Monday 18th Dec @ 10am.
  • All parents are welcome to join the party and carol singing sessions.

If your child does not attend on a Thursday, you can still bring them along for the Christmas dinner, but you will have to stay at the nursery with your children.

    Outdoor Play area:

Please note the outdoor area is being used daily by all children.

Although we currently only have the temporary canopies up, they are working well. This allows us to use the garden all day and in all weathers.

Update: We are still in the process of arranging for the permanent structure to be put up. This is still going ahead; the Director and Berkeley Homes are meeting again soon to finalise everything.

We apologise for the delay in the permanent structure being put up but want to assure you it will happen. It is just taking a little longer than we expected as a few parties are involved in the process.

    Healthy Eating / Birthday Cake:

Thank you for working with us. We have had lot of fruit and healthy shakes.

For birthdays, we will continue to celebrate each child’s birthday to make them feel special, but without a birthday cake. We are really encouraging children to be healthy eaters.

We are still experiencing problems in the over 2’s section with buggies.

2 and 3-year-old children, children living close to the nursery who can walk confidently should not need to have a buggy stored at the nursery.

Only lightweight fold up buggies can be left at the nursery. Please ensure that buggies are left only in the green wooden boxes and not outside them or on top of other buggies. Buggies at the bottom are getting damaged and we have had several complaints from parents.

Please note that these entrances are also our FIRE EXITS.

We are sorry to be losing Miss Fahima, as she is moving on to the work in a Primary School.

Miss Zaheda has also decided not to return to work for personal reasons.

We are continuing to recruit and will have a few new staff joining us over the next few months. We do have a robust recruitment procedure to ensure that only staff who are qualified, experienced and passionate about the development of children are considered for the post.

At Zeeba Daycare, we do also encourage staff to do further studies / training to develop their knowledge and skills.

We congratulate the following staff who have graduated:

    Miss Sheila

    Miss Hazara

    Miss Louisa

Also, Miss Fahima has completed her level 3 training and Miss Yushana has completed level 2.

    Fees & Payments:

As parents have been notified, our fees increased from 1st September 2017:

Under 2’s - £60 per full day and £50 for half day,

Over 2’s - £57 per full day and £40 for half day.

For parents of 2 Year Olds, please note that the fees will not change on the date of your child’s birthday. Fees will be adjusted the month after your child has turned 2 years.

Please remember to put your child’s full name on all payments and queries. Also, please ensure that separate payments are made for siblings as they do have individual accounts.

    Policies & Procedures:

All our policies are on the website so please ensure you have read them. Please do not hesitate to speak to us if you have any queries.

    Extra days & Sessions:

Please note: we do need at least a weeks’ notice if you require extra days or sessions for your child.

We are full in most rooms now, so it is difficult to arrange extra days/sessions at short notice.

We also need at least a week’s notice for early drop offs and late pick-ups to ensure that we have enough staff on the premises and rotas are done in advance.

    Holidays, Absences and Sickness:

Just a reminder to call the nursery before 10am to let us know if your child will not be attending due to sickness, outings or if they will be coming in later normal. This will enable us to save lunch/snack etc for your child, knowing that they will be in later.

You can call us on 0203 247 4770 or email at

    Kind Regards

Ms Satvinder and the Zeeba team
