Dear Parents and Carers,

We welcome all our new children and families who have recently joined us at Royal Arsenal.

Thank you to all parents who are recommending us to friends and family, this is much appreciated.

Security of Children:

Just a reminder, to remember to close the doors / gate when entering and leaving the building

especially on the over 2’s side, even if another parent is behind you. The children get extremely excited when parents start arriving, and with the staff giving feedback to parents during this time, it can be very busy.

We have put an extra member of staff at these doors from 5pm purely for the security of your children.

Holiday and Leave Notice:

Reminder:

You are required to give a full 1 months’ notice when your child is leaving the nursery. We have not yet received dates for several children who will be starting school in September.

Please let us know as soon as possible, or you will be charged for the extra days if it is not a full month’s notice.

We wish all our School leavers the best in their new school and future. We will miss you.

Holidays:

If your child will be on holiday, please inform us of the dates in advance, as well as if you are returning earlier than expected or planned. We plan our staff rotas, based on the number of children who will be attending each day, to meet the statutory requirements.

Therefore, if children turn up at nursery unexpectedly when they have informed us they are away it does mean we must reorganise the staffing. If you can let us know at least a day in advance, it will support us making the necessary arrangements to maintain our ratios.

Healthy Eating:

Thank you to parents who have given us some new ideas and recipes for our menus. We are always looking to improve and appreciate the support from parents.

CAKES:

If your child is celebrating their birthday, or leaving, we kindly request that you will not bring in any cakes. We encourage healthy eating, and would much rather appreciate healthy snacks.

If it is your child’s birthday, we will continue celebrating it through singing.

We would much rather give the children fresh fruits, or a healthy bag of crisps / snacks.

Parent Update on outdoor space:

From the Director: Mr. Van Emmenis – meetings with Berkley Homes and planning department are being held. It is a lengthy process and we aim to get it completed as soon as possible.

Buggies:

Only lightweight fold up buggies can be left at the nursery. Please ensure that buggies are left only in the green wooden boxes and not outside them or on top of other buggies.

Please note: These entrances are also our FIRE EXITS.

Staff:

We welcome Miss Zaheda as the new room leader in the Playful Pandas room.

Miss Zaheda is working side Miss Hope, so there is always a strong room leader in the room.

We welcome Miss Leanne, who has joined our Dolphins room, as well as Miss Nyasha and Miss Carol who joined us in June.

We are continually recruiting and will have several new staff starting over the next few months.

We do have a robust recruitment procedure in place, to ensure that only staff who are qualified experienced and passionate about the development of children are considered for the post.

Fees and Payments:

As parents have been notified, there will be a fee increase as from 1st September 2017:

Children aged under 2 - £60 per full day and £50 for half day

Children over 2 - £57 per full day and £40 for half day

Children’s 2nd Birthday:

Please note that the fees will not change on the date of your child’s birthday, but will be adjusted the month after your child has turned 2 years of age.

Policies and Procedures:

Our policies and procedures are available on our website for further reference. If you have any questions or queries, please speak to a member of the management team.

Extra days and Sessions:

Please note: we do need at least a week’s notice if you require extra days or sessions for your child.

Due to limited available space in most rooms, it is difficult to arrange extra days / sessions at short notice.

Holidays, Absences, and Sickness:

Please remember to call the nursery before 10am to let us know if your child will not be attending due to sickness, outings or if they will be coming in later normal. This will enable us to save lunch / snack etc. for your child, knowing that they will be in later.

The nursery can be contacted at 0203 247 4770.

Kind Regards

Ms Satvinder and the Zeeba team
