Winter is truly here, and we had our first snow for the year. With the colder weather, we have our normal rounds of sniffles and colds doing the rounds.
Children aged 2-7 can get a free flu jab from your local GP surgery, participating pharmacies, and midwifery services. Visit www.londonflu.co.uk to find out where to go.
We now have an allocated email to each member in the office:
Ms Lehanie: email@example.com

We want to offer healthy foods to the children attending the setting and we had a lot of birthday cakes recently send to nursery. It puts us in a difficult position since some children have food allergies and can’t have a slice of cake or others are not allowed any sugar. We have an alternative solution to this problem. Can you please send a selection of fruits like nectarines, berries, apples etc. to the nursery? Raisins are quite popular too!
Our chef is using these to prepare a fruit platter instead that can be shared with everyone in the class and it is promoting healthy eating. That way everyone can take part, and everyone is included. Can I please request that parents do not bring cakes, juice, crisps, chocolates, nuts, or crackers to the nursery? Our nursery is a nut free zone due to severe nut allergies amongst the children attending.
Please also be mindful about this when you bring a snack for your child to eat at the end of the day. Can you please give that to them when you are outside the setting? That way other children do not witness this or gets upset by this.
